Ausangate trek classic 5 days

Without a doubt, the Ausangate trail offers some of the most wonderful landscapes in the entire Cusco area, with many birds, wildlife, also glaciers and lakes of different colors and sizes. It is also one of the most challenging in the region with three high passes over (5,000m / 16,000ft). Apu Ausangate dominates the southern horizon of Cusco. As we approach this massive massif (6,380m / 20,926ft), one becomes increasingly impressed and fully understands why the ancient Incas held this spectacular mountain in such high regard. Throughout the Ausangate walking circuit we pass through local villages where people dress in their typical attire, women in beautiful ornate flat-top hats, and llamas graze freely.
